Flying across Washington in pilot Oliver Hamilton's plane to interview the finalists in a Christmas cake recipe contest, journalist Emma must tackle the two things she hates the most: fruitcake and heights.

But as the Christmas spirit starts to tingle, things take on a new spin. Oliver no longer seems the Scrooge he had initially appeared to be - and his dog, Oscar, can't but bring a smile to Emma's face.
