Gracie

Set in the late 1950s, Gracie tells the tale of a girl trying to overcome her past. Gracie meets Shaun, a local Southend boy who is besotted by her and knows nothing of her past. They marry quickly and quietly with Gracie determined not to invite her family, a pregnancy follows soon after. But when Gracie's scheming sister comes to stay, she discloses Gracie's secret to Shaun. Gracie was pregnant once before and gave the baby up for adoption. Shaun is furious and Gracie is turned away, left abandoned with a baby once again.
