Mo and her best friend Dale - cofounders of the (probably) world-famous Desperado Detective Agency - know trouble as sure as they know the streets of Tupelo Landing, NC. But when they head to court as star witnesses against Dale's no-good daddy - confessed kidnapper Macon Johnson - they face a new brand of trouble. The Colonel and Miss Lana, Mo's family-of-choice, have predicted a slam-dunk conviction - if everything goes as expected. Mo, who wants to get even with Mr. Macon for hurting the people she loves, can't wait to testify. But the thought of a courtroom appearance rattles Dale's already jangled nerves.
